My job is a huge source of stress. I feel stagnate but at the same time, since I'm still struggling with depression and anxiety, it's familiar to deal with. I've thought about applying elsewhere and one position in particular would be challenging- some skills beyond my current skill set but the thought of a new place and a challenge makes me think it could actually help get me out of this rut. It's a bit of a dream job at the point I'm at now but some thoughts failure creep in of course.
Is it just the wrong time to make a big challenging change?

I don't think there can be a wrong time to apply for a 'dream job.' Go for it! If you get it, it was meant to be! Good luck!

Is there anyway you could shadow a person who does that job? Or can you get a job description and maybe check off what skills you have. From my experience with every job there is always something. I may get away from a tedious schedule and gain a bitter Co worker. It's like tit for tat and wherever you go there you are.

Good luck. Tnt

I have spent 7 of the last 9 months putting off a job search because I felt I was not mentally stable enough to get hired. This past couple months things at work really took a nose dive and I'm realizing I need to get out of there before I can pull out of this rut. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long, but I can't change the past, I can only push forward. I managed to score an interview on Tuesday so I guess I'll see how good I am at pretending while in a low.
