I have returned to school to finish my college education after 25 years of leaving to get married and raise my children. I completed my associate degree in Applied Science Health and Human Services and now I am continuing on to finish with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. I keep telling myself that I can do it, but sometimes I say to myself "what in the world were you thinking". In need of support to keep me going!

Good for you! Keep going and get your graduate degree. I think 50 is a fine age to return to school. (I am 61 and would do it now had I the resources)

not "crazy" at all, I think it is great you are able to continue your education in something you are really interested in pursuing, congrats and best of luck in completing your degree!

Well done, I am jealous.

Saw a 70 year old on Who wants to be a millionaire the other day who went back to school at age 50 . . . it seems that learning keeps us young.

You go! I met a woman recently (now retired) who returned to college in her 50's and graduated at 56. After graduation, she got a job in her field that she loved. Social workers are always in demand so you should not have a problem finding a job.

I started school at age 60 and am a Sophomore at 67! Age is irrelevant......(social work). I wrote about my life and won a scholarship.
Thanks for this!

My former nurse manager raised her kids and then went back to school to get her BSN.

You can do it!

I got my second degree at 57 and went on to graduate school! It is all about what you want for your life.

Just think of all the life experience you'll be bringing into your field with you.

Have fun! My mom (58) is just going back to finish a history degree. She says its a lot of work and sometimes jokes that she's too old but she also says she loves doing it and is now thinking of a masters. I think the hard part is the social aspect. Try and connect with some of the other returning students, even if they're not 50 they will get what you're going through.

We should start a club, but we wouldn't have time to visit it much, right? I'm just over 50 and going to finish my BSC, this summer.
