I recently started a new job in a different field. I thought for a very long time before accepting the position and based on the training program and reviews from employees I accepted. Now I'm through the training and doing it for real and my anxiety is out of control. I'm so afraid of making mistakes, looking a fool or incompetent, or just disappointing everyone. Where do I find confidence? Why can't I accept that a new job is a learning experience and a good thing? I'm tired of the fear. It's always there, now it is just more overwhelming because of the new job.

New jobs are usually nervewracking. I know they make me really nervous. Just try to hang in there, I'm sure it'll get easier with time as you get to know your new coworkers and learn the job. You'll do great.

Thank you. I'm trying to stay positive. The negative thoughts always manage to creep in. Fighting them is exhausting.

I also struggle with negative thinking. I am actually going through my own thing with a job. I wrote about it and I think it's below your post. It is exhausting trying to think positive.
