so I went in and did an inteview at a local subway here in town and all seemed to go well.....i went in did a drug test....and now I am waiting to hear back from that and getting the background check.
Everything should go well with all this I was nervous about the drug test...cause to to be frankly honest about two weeks before I had smoked about two times.....which I ended up feeling incredibly bad for later on...cause I know its a not a wise decision for someone in my position looking for a job....but I took at home test before hand just to put my mind at ease and that came back negative...it had a been a while since when I had actually smoked so everything should pan out...but now I am just nearly tearing my nails off waiting I called the manger at the store and was really polite just asking that I was checking up on my paper work...it has been about two days...so I don't think I am horribly out of line for checking on stuff. ....but yeah she told me she had not heard anything back but that she would be getting back to me when she did....... so now I get to play the fun waiting game....

Yes, the waiting game is no fun. It's like being out of control. I get anxious in those situtations, too. Hope you get the job.

I think pre-employment drug tests are ridiculous and a waste of money...why is it any of their business what you put in your body on your own time? I could see maybe drug testing an employee if they where acting different than usual, or in a harmful manner....though drugs wouldn't be the only cause of that either.
I don't know I can see not allowing any drug use on a job....but a pre-employment drug test doesn't indicate whether or not someone is going to use any drug on the job. Also what about alcohol Is smoking a bowl or a joint really any more morally wrong than having a beer or two? Ok kind of a rant....so anyways. I hope all goes well and you are able to get the job....I hate waiting though when there is uncertainty it makes me very anxious so I can understand that. |

no I completly agree I mean how does what I do on my own time effect what I do or how I preform in work place...lol the sad thing is my boyfriend and a TON of my friends are fairly big pot user.....well in that they smoke fairly often...and I swear they have better work ethic then most people I know that have jobs.
lol so its incredibly counter productive, not to mention sorry but the fact is that in probably year or so from now....smoking is going to be legal...too many people are arguing for it to be and frankly the country will MAKE money by legalizing it.....there was a freakin news special on in on CNN for crying out loud.... about the benefits of smoking.... lol and now you got me on a rant so its all good.
