I'm not even sure how to ask this. My job has run me down so much my boyfriend and his parents can see it. (I hardly go to my own parents' house.) I'm depressed, stressed, and a situation at a client's house could possible get me hurt, arrested, or killed. I've been with the company for almost nine months. I'm trying to find a therapist at the moment too. Is there something I can apply for where I can temporarily not work? I just finished an EMT course and would want to work in the medical field but I really need a break right now. I need the money work brings in though. I don't know what to do.

unfortunately disability only pays after you have been out of work for a minimum of a year and it can take years to get it. your best option is to find that therapist and get some coping skills to help you through your current crisis so you can remain employable. take care.

What is causing you to feel this way? Is it too much work? Is it the unsafe work environment? Is it personality conflict? If it is one of the first two, talk to your supervisor and ask for help, even for a short time to get things organized. Describe what you feel is unsafe for you at the client's home and explain why you do not want to go there, espcially alone. Your boss probably will not care if it is a personality conflict. You don't have to like the people you work with, you only have to work with them. I hope you find a good T who can help you deal with your stress and you can keep this job or get one you like better. Good luck.-
