Sorry ranting!

My boss is so lazy. All he does is funnel more and more work down to me. I think he also prevents me from being promoted but can't prove it. We have dozens of clients where I work. Yet there's not enough time in a day to take care of every client. My boss knows my locations everyday.

Today he tells me through email the president of one client company is going to location B and not A anymore. That's nice and dandy but he expects me I go to B where I control absolutely nothing. I can't make any of their tuff loom awesome to prepare for this visit. I'm more than an hr away from B yet he is 10minutes down the road and can't pop in to check anything!!!

Now he just sent another email regarding another client. We absolutely have I do another person in our company's job or a competitors job by next week. Last I checked these a holes are going to get paid for that job. So now I'm doing their jobs for free!!!! What the **** how I this even legal? I'm not getting paid anymore. Y the hell should i do it? Oh yeah and he mentions we are under the gun yet again. If theres a gun pointed at me it better b at my damn head and it better be real!!!

I hate this company and my boss but I can't quit because the job market I so tight and I have to pay student loans. If I didn't have these student loans is tell everyone in my company off. And I would let clients know that this company is committing extortion since they are paying for services we have absolutely zero time to do the work. So they are paying for services they are not receiving. I guess that's welcome to America land of greed and big business extortion.

Is your job so specialized that very few people do it? If it is an industry, than there should be industry standards. See what they are. If other people who do similar work do not have the same job conditions as you see if the violations are serious enough to warrant your quitting and getting unemployment insurance. If you are not being paid there are laws for that too. See what the Bureau of Labor and Industry says about wages in your state and at the federal level. They cannot make you work for free.

Go to your Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI), explain your situation, and ask about options. Sometimes you can quit your job and receive unemployment insurance benefits anyway if the employer is to doing something that violates a rule.

No not industrial job. It's a broker I work for. I get paid hourly but I don't have a company car so it's damaging to my car and my wallet since I have to pay for it all. If I had a company car I would give a crap if they wanted me to drive all the time. But since it's my dollar my car I'm resistant to drive more than I have to. I specifically plan out my routes to use the least amount of fuel and least miles on my car. It's not right to be paid less than the cost of living and be expected to pay for all work travel and the damage to my vehicle.

Where I live here's 2seasons pot hole season and construction season. Both add drive time to everything. My boss expects miracles and like teleportation from one location to another. This comp at doesn't understand that looking at a map and saying that's not far isn't the same as driving it. They expect me to do a 90min drive in 50min or less.

Wow, I'd be mad, too. Is there anyway you could try at least temporarily to keep your feelings in check and remind Mister Lazy Bum of the realities of the situation? For example, to just casually say, "I was making good time to ( ), and then, and then......." Not sounding like you're making excuses or complaining. Just a thought.

I don't know that's there's any way to keep him from funneling things down. He is blessed to have you. Let's hope someone will finally see he is not carrying his load.

(Sounds like you're in some law firm with billable hours....Let's hope you make partner! )

I wish it was a law firm then it might make some sense but it's not. We are a 3rd party in grocery stores. The thing is everyone at our office knows he's lazy and doesn't know a damn thing. But he's been working for this company for almost 30yrs( yes I think it's as how little ambition he has since he's only a bump above me) but he has a brother that's a lawyer so they don't want to fire him and get slapped with a wrongful termination lawsuit. It does look on paper as if he's a good employee since he's got so many yrs with the company.

I've recently been told I'm the strange employee giving 120% whereas the average employee in the company only gives about 60%. So I'm being punished and held back because I am a true hard worker? All this crap tells me is that I should be jut as lazy as everyone else and then maybe I'll get ahead. But I just can't force myself to do that. I'm too hyper active. And I know what the hell I'm doing.
