I work with family and one of my family members is a narcissist who bullies everyone at work. It has gotten so bad, we even had a blow up in his dad's office. He was given a few days off from work to make some changes. When he came back, I started having panic attacks really bad whenever I have to be in the same room with him. I have had to leave early a few days, gotten really sick and missed a few days, and I'm having to leave during the day for longer lunches, just so I can handle working there. I started going to a new therapist, my previous T just wanted to do talk therapy, and it wasn't very aggressive or addressing anything. My new T has already done some EFT tapping and relaxation hypnosis. I have been debating going out on disability until I can get my mental health back on track. I know it's not the same as getting a full paycheck, but at this point I'm more concerned about my health, than my paycheck.

Im sorry your going through so much with a family member no less . Kudos to you for realizing the first therapist wasnt helping so found one that can.

If you have the option of short term disability through your job then why not take some.

Is there a way for you to continue to work but not be in the same area as him ?
