I got a one year contract in my dream job.
I have a couple of months left and it is holidays next week.
I work in a school and the ebst time to look for work is September/October for education jobs.

I spoke to my boss today and he said I should think about myself and applyfor other jobs because they won't be able to make a decision until they hear from the person who I am replacing and noone can get hold of her.
He also said that the job must be readvertised and he won't be the only one on the panel so I need to plan for if someone from outside comes in who is just amazing and the other panel members want them.

I hate the uncertainty and I relly hate the job searching/interview process.

This is my dream job but the workplace has an amazing reputation so the fact that I have worked here and the things I have done should make it easy for me....but I can't bring myself to open up my resume.

I don't know why starting a resume is sooo difficult! I am going through the same thing. Have printed out 4 old versions and then I will edit them until I get the one that works the best. But it's also important to fit each resume to each job so that it is pertinent to the skills needed.
And then there's the cover letter. Thank goodness for organizations that help with free counseling and job lists.

Things to keep in mind when interacting with me:
1. Do not try to medicate me. I am not on medication for a very good reason.
2. I don't do hugs.
3. If I ask for help, it is because I am at the breaking point, otherwise I have a bad habit of keeping quiet. Please do not brush me off.
Thanks for this!

Best wishes AS6855. It sounds like you have done all you can do at this point. I hope the wait for an answer isn't too long.

They say to apply for many jobs. The problem is I have only found 3 jobs that I am qualified for.
One would halve my salary because it is a demotion, the one I applied for which is now not out of my reach as it was before this job, and one that I am working on applying for now.

Dear AS6855,

There are lots of places that can "help" you with a resume but most of them are the same.

In today's workplace most people are being let go for a variety of reasons many jobs today are "at will employment" which leaves a person insecure.
Finding an employment contract will be even harder.

Take the time when your mind is calm and with a notebook summarize your work history.
Things that you have learned over the years and what makes YOU more valuable.
Communication skills, make it personal but not lengthy, overcoming adversity, being flexible, and continuing to want to make a difference. How commitmented you are with your work.

Remember EVERYTHING is NEGOTIABLE.*
This comes into play for a contract employment.
Percentages over the word dollars.*
If you are in good/ill health know the value of the words benefits packages.*
A question always asked, is where do you see yourself in 5 years.
Have an answer for that.*
OR YOU can ask the employer where they see themselves/the company in 5 years.
Show of CONFIDENCE, even if you have to fake it.*

In the meantime don't worry. Not all jobs/careers are found by resumes and interviews.
Market yourself, always have a card on you. Place yourself in the circles of your field.
And dont be afraid to branch out.
Sincerely,
Happiedasiy.

Oh, I am quite familiar with the job seeking process and have been to many job seeking courses. It's juts confidence is my issue. I don't think I can succeed even though my friends will tell you, and never cease to tell me, that if anyone is likely to succeed in anything, it is me.
