Today, i got caught talking while working. The boss came around, and saw me talking. I was asked, "What are you doing?" I said, "I asked him for help." The boss then said, "You know where that item goes, it goes in the front." I then replied, "Yes, you're right."

I did not get in trouble, but that told me to not talk while working.

I am glad you didn't get in trouble. I cant imagine not being able to talk at work. we talk, laugh, joke and goof off all the time. as long as we get our job done it does not matter. we had one lady who did not approve, but since she wasn't the boss we ignored her comments. she would complain to the boss and the boss told us not to talk around her. she is gone now

That always seems to happen to me. My boss knows that I'm a hard worker, but it always seems like he comes around at the point that I decide to stop for a few minutes and chat. He's never there when I'm busting my hump.

What sort of work do you do where you are not allowed to talk? My boss does not like for us to talk (unless by "talking" we are listening to her self-aggrandize) but when we are quiet and doing our work, she walks past our desks over and over and over and over and over and over all day to make sure we are actually working.
