I have no friends so. Haven't been in school for the last 3-4 years. I honestly don't want to volunteer. Does that make me a bad person? "Perhaps." Perhaps it does! Will it probably hinder my employable status? "yes." Of course! Still don't wanna do it! *You wouldn't know how to anyway." Yeah true.

I don't have any family friends either. My sisters have different last names. Can't use them really. This whole reference thing is such horseshit. It's all about how you play the game but I just don't want to play the game. I hate this game.

I did it! Got an interview.

This is the happiest day of my life.

I didn't even put down any references.

Unemployable

I'm not very good with my phone. So I missed their first two calls. So I called them back and they were like okay.

That's awesome! I hope it goes well! At the very least it will be practice, and maybe you will get a job out of it!

So.

They said I'm hired but there is a "complication."

Which I will try to work over with them on Monday because the manager in charge of my employment doesn't work the weekend it seems.

Hope it goes well but I think I have the job pretty much unless I manage to change her mind with my mass amount of stupidity involving the pre-employment stuff. Which is also the "complication."

Now I'm anxious about it all and not sure if I can do it.

Well I honestly don't know if I can. I haven't even started and the stress is getting to me already. Too much stuff for me I dunno. Perhaps I am weak. No perhaps about it actually. I am weak. Maybe it was too soon. I feel sick about it.

It's just anxiety. I once got a job as a cab driver and right after I was walking home and suddenly I was overtaken with horrible anxiety. I felt I couldn't possibly do it. I even got drunk that night and couldn't go in on my first day. The next day, I forced myself to go, and I did it! It was a great feeling. I hadn't driven in years.

Yeah I've been getting into driving recently too even though I couldn't even go outside my house 6 months ago.

You'll do fine. Once you get past the initial anxiety it will feel very normal. When I got the cab driving job I didn't really know the city or anything. I had to ask the passengers for directions and just wing it. The guys at the garage were always telling me I wasn't bringing in enough money even though I was doing just as well or better than the other drivers - they didn't like that and wanted me to quit. I eventually did quit just because the money was so poor. Other than that I found I missed having the car every day, but I was in NYC and it wasn't practical to buy my own car. Anyway, I started something else with much better money, a really great opportunity and did really well for a long time.

The point is that each job is sort of a stepping stone to something that will eventually be better, but while you're in a job it's sort of the one you're meant to have at that time. So you're going to be fine. They would not have hired you if they thought you couldn't do it. The taxi company might have hired me for laughs but I proved I could do the job well. And I wasn't forced out, I quit when I found a better opportunity for myself. Always think of the good possibilities. Recognize anxiety but don't let it run your life.

Yes a good idea. For awhile it has been ruining me. I'm planning on doing it for a little bit and see how it goes. I'd like to take college courses too.

Hey! Congratulations on the job!

I was reading through... And I was thinking.... If you have recently moved to a small town... Then the personal touch is important, yeah. Your taking the time to go and introduce yourself to them and say that you just moved into town for whatever reason... And you are planning on sticking around etc... Small towns can be slow to warm to you... But once they have they can be slow to go cold, sometimes, too, yeah.

ANyway... Congrats on your first job there. I hope you manage to get into something even better as you get to know people in time.
