Hey everyone! I've been at my part time job for a year now, had two interviews last month and the 2nd interview I really wanted they found someone else without letting me know. I got in contact with some staffing agencies and had interviews yesterday plus a phone interview. Morning interview was good, afternoon interview sparked my interest, and phone interview okay.
Their client sent me an assessment 3 part to take which I finished it last night so we will see. Trying to help my boyfriend find work somewhere so I put his name down and the recruiter did call him want him to send him his resume. Hmm, seems like a blessing is coming way! |

I'm glad you are getting interviews. That sounds promising.

Got interview with employer next Tuesday direct hire pays great. Phone interview the lady got kinda ***** about why I have a schedule restriction which I don't I just want a change of pace tired of working nights.
I hope the questions won't be too hard since I've never worked in the IT field before working at my college job. I was told this company will train 4 weeks training 2 weeks on the job training. Then I can move on and implement my plans. |

Good luck with the interview! And good for you for pushing back on the schedule. Nights can be really rough, I don't think I could do it.

Thanks! At my PT job, I get off at 9pm, I work 5 hrs Mon-Wed, work 3 hours on Thurs get off at 7, and Fridays that depends on how my coworker feels. Sometimes, I might do a 9-5p, or 11a-5p, but my schedule is usually 12-4p on Fridays. Even 9-5 or 8-5 is boring I do more sitting than a combination of walking and sitting.
So yea, I just want a change of scenery/pace is what I told these recruiters. The schedule I have now is great it allows me to sleep in, do errands in the morning, etc but when I come home at night too tired and don't wanna eat dinner too late. I know this will change once I move into full time. |

Here's an update: I had my interview last Tuesday with a company. It was great, pay was great, didn't realize it had commission on top of it too. I was given the tour of the place usually that's a sign you got the job indirectly, right? I got word on Friday that I didn't get the job that it was an impressive and competitive interview.
Oh really? I am always getting "impressive" and "competitive" yet still no offers. I don't find it fair that these IT companies expect me to have the skills like a level two and level three tech support would have when I am only a level one they should be asking me what a level one tech support can do. I don't have a lot of access at work for different things that's how the college District set it up and there's not much I can tell other employers why I don't have access (temps are only allowed certain amount of access to xyz). |
