Insurance!
Obama (don't) care!!! See....I work a minimal job for now, due to the stagnant economy in my area..... I make less than 18,000 (before taxes) per year! Single income, no dependents... My current employer is going to charge about $276.00 per month, for a "minimum coverage plan"!!!! In addition, I called the Market Place, and after 45 minutes on the phone with those idiots....I was quoted, a "bronze" plan for $505.00 per month!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? I take a lot of Tier 1 meds, by the time I paid the premiums AND my high dollar copays....I'd be left with zero. or a negative balance! I do NOT qualify for Medicaid either, tried....... HOW the H can I be expected to pay all of this, and still pay rent, groceries, utilities, etc....!!!!!!!!!!!! I will just do without............and let the chips fall! Insurance, in my experience is ALWAYS a money trap! Be it health, dental, car, home, life.....we pay Mega $$$$$ and when we need a $300.00 bill paid, they will pay $11.45, IF we are lucky! Then deductibles!!! Yeah, they think you should meet a mega thousand dollar deductible, then they will find every way under then sun to NOT pay no more than they wish to pay!!! Pure.....BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To sum it up....insurance's motto is: "If you pay us about $8,000 per year, or almost 50% of your income, we "may" pay about $225.00 of your claims....IF you are lucky!!! |

I hear you loud & clear LifeIsCruel...my twin girls work and go to college. They each make more than I do and the one paid for a health plan last year and the other said to hell with them. Now she's angry about the penalty.
I see both my girls paying for college, working hard, getting scholarships and then this BS because at their young age they might need medical attention. UGH The one told me this morning that it's better to go to the community clinic for an ear infection or uti and pay according to income. I'm letting them decide what to do. I know the one will cry and moan about the penalty, and I feel for her, but that's the reality. I make less than $11,000 a year so I'm covered, but sure pissed about what this is doing to them. |

Obamacare is all about getting the doctors, insurance companies and hospitals paid. They say "no out of pocket expenses when the deductible is met", but we still pay for it in taxes anyways.
Our republican governor didn't opt for the Obama medicaid plan with the adjusted lower poverty level, so where we would've qualified we are now forced to buy insurance, but can't afford the co-pay to even see the doctor in the first place. It's totally messed up. What a great time to be a doctor now where a paycheck is government guaranteed. |

I was refused insurance before ObamaCare because I had a bipolar diagnosis. Since Obamacare went into effect I have been able to qualify for a policy however like everyone has said it costs too much to afford. I go in the hole every month. And the copays are a joke.
