Ten years of juggling rent, food, bills, so beyond hopeless feeling. Tomorrow is yet another dead end job fair. I don't have the few bucks for bus fare to get there. I've seen they are saying that 55+ companies will be there. Okay..??

I see a few temp agencies, more than a few companies who have been on the 'net for months or years...same positions, one without a job posting at all...you get the picture.

My neighbor helped me get help with the electric bill and I'm grateful. That's not going to stop yet another eviction notice. I just have to be doing something wrong. The help numbers of different social welfare sites...some are not even working numbers. Okay...??

Any ideas..?? I'm at the complete end of my rope..10 years is just too long. I'm 57 and age discrimination is real, I look old and depressed, why wouldn't I be. Ok, I'm done..any ideas..??

Cat Lover 58, i know that jobs that hire night shifts don't care about age limits. Super markets hire people to restock the shelves, working with inventory. It is a paycheque and it does pay the bills. See if a local church is hiring for a janitors position or a secretary position. These places need reliable people all the time and rather hire older mature individuals. I have been where you are many times. Yes life is hard but please don't give up. Also go on line to Craigs List under jobs. I will pray for you, tc
Thanks for this!

Lowe's Home Improvement is hiring nationwide for seasonal help. It's the best way to get your foot in the door with this company. Go here: https://jobs.lowes.com/category/stor...s/1627/14938/1

It's worth a try!

This isn't an advertisement. I have worked for them for 2 + years and make extra money each week. It might help while you are searching for outside work.

okay to save someone else from getting upset, the link is a waste of time. I downloaded google chrome like they wanted and it still would not let me sign up. I tried to chat and they cut me off. Sorry Simone70, bad suggestion.

Cat Lover, have you thought about self-employment. Handyman, caregiver, house cleaner, car detailer maybe?

It's not a bad suggestion Hannabee because I have been working for them for nearly three years and getting paid reliably every week. You just had some technical difficulties is all. Don't give up before you even get past the starting line! *hugs*

Here's another company that offers the same kind of work and are great to work for. I have worked for them also, but couldn't do both. Rev canceled my membership because of inactivity. I just prefer TM's platform.
