I've decided it's time to just move on from my current job of 16 years. I am tired of it, I need a new experience, and I've never had another job so I don't know what to do. I look occasionally online, but don't find anything other than "receptionist" or "degree and 9 years of experience needed" I am a composer and have been looking at that as a way of supplementing my income, but not as a career. I in no way want to do anything related to what I've been doing, nor do I want to work outside anymore. So what help can you guys give me?

What have you been doing for 16 years and what do you want to do instead?

I've been doing event parking for the city I live in, basically think ticket guy at a garage. At this point I just want out, but not without a way to continue being paid. I do not want to work outside anymore.

Try a temp agency! I think they are a good option, and I've had relatively good experiences with them myself. It's a nice way to "try out" different places and see what fits you.

You could try a temp agency. I am still having issues with them constant talking and no action from them only to hear back from them months on end! This quarter is very slow I am barely getting any calls/emails which is a shock! I really want to stay in the education field either still in IT or something new anything within reason to get a full time job which is very why hard considering the education budget has been drastically cut.

I think you could sell yourself as someone who is good in a fast paced environment, customer service, dealing with the public, flexible, ability to problem solve on the spot, reliable, loyal to the company once hired, interact with a wide variety of people... and a whole lot more.

Do any job ads catch your eye when you are looking? If so, I would try to translate your experience at the job you currently have into whatever it is the other position requires.
