Hello, I'm new here. I made a course in 1 year approximately about: computer repair technician. I saw a little about: concepts, networks, format PC, recognize pieces of motherboard, ... I was in traineeship 3 months (before that time I had some experience with format computers, delete a virus, fix some problem -software and hardware-).

During that 3 months I was lost because I thought that repair computer was only format PC and change some pieces (at basic level, I was wrong...). I felt bad because for example I had to check or change some piece inside a computer and I had fear to break it, I broke for example a graphic card (I connected it wrong) and 2 or 3 Hard Disk (the connector was damaged and burnt it).

The worst thing in that period is that I was thinking all day in my house for example: What is the problem with X computer? (And all day looking for a solution for that problem), or I said "tomorrow when I go to work I will see the ****ing computer again without fix yet" (the worst for me, for example: weeks with the same computer without solution it was stressful), or the computer had other new problem (it happened to me sometimes, it's terrible). THEN I stopped to do exercise, go out with my friends, I had worst family relationships. I was really bad.

After all that I started to drink alcohol (I felt better more confident to work and I forgot the problems) and to eat more more junk food. Result: I started to loss hair, physical problems,...

Finally I finished my traineeship and my life returned to normally: I stopped of think all day, I started to do exercise, go out with my friends, better family relationships.

I don't want go through all this again, I need tips. How can I disconnect from work? How can I get confident and relax (without drink alcohol)?

At present I don't work, only format PC, clean virus, some software and hardware problems. And when a person give me a PC to check or change some complex piece inside a computer I feel fear to broke it and I start to remember bad experiences that I had, and I say "sorry but I can't do it".

ALL MY PROBLEMS CAN SUMMARIZE in: when I have big responsibility I feel worse, for example: when the computer had other new problem it was my problem and I had to deal it (this responsibility cause me ALL PROBLEMS that I said).

All help is welcome , and please don't use a lot of complex words I'm not english

I found a method that I think that works. It's for get confident and relax (without drink alcohol). The method is: record my voice telling me good things that I did, in this case related to repair computer like:
-The PC turned off when it started a game and I found that the CPU was a little loose (this was the cause of the problem).
-The PC had a problem with the DVD drive, it did not open. I found the solution, I applied 3 in 1 oil in a piece and it worked.
-The PC did not turn on, I checked the power supply and tried with other. It was the solution.

When I'm going to feel bad, I will try to apply that method, to feel better: confident and relax.

I started to apply this in studies a few days ago. I sometimes I feel unconfident when I study like: it's impossible, it's very difficult,... . And I record my voice telling me good things like: I understood more difficult concepts like blah blah blah..., when I saw that difficult text related to X and I said: "Ohhh my god it's impossible to learn that" and finally I did it, ...

I think that it's the same apply that method in differents areas like: work or study.

I have to say that after to listen the audio I feel better but I think that I need more days to check if the method finally works.

Hi,

First of all what kind of course was it over 1 year? It sounds a bit weird to me.

traineeship of 3 months is way, way too short for any thing.

I have been doing this for 10+ years, so please contact me somehow.

Take care.

Hello Matches, well about the course I said "1 year approximately" (1 year and 6 months more 3 months on traineeship), I would have to say 2 years approximately hehe. It's the higher education (NOT college).
