Anybody come across suspicious looking posts for "jobs" that are either fishy or maybe a phishing scam?
Here's one I found recently: Dear Applicant, Thank you for your application/Inquiry, I am Small Business Owner who deals with Purchasing Vintage and Antique Art piece for my various clients at different Auctions across the Country, At this time of the year, its exceedingly a busy time for me and I find myself constantly traveling to various states for exhibitions, auctions, deliveries of all as such that I sort the services of a Personal Assistant to handle my business errands, so I had to post a job offer for the Personal Assistant/Admin Assistant. The job do not require that you resume to an office, leave your current employment or evacuate your convenience For The first 30 day trials. Full Name: Full Address: City: State: Zip Code: Phone No: Cell No: Age: Work Status: Email address: FYI: Note that this job DOES NOT require any financial obligation of any sort from you as I would be responsible for all expenses. Also, I would have loved to meet you in person for now but Due to my Busy Schedule it would take time But i would schedule a phone interview to talk to you and interview you and then we take it from there. I look forward to hearing from you. It started out with me finding a posting on Indeed.com but it had no job description or qualifications. It just said part-time, $80 a day, Admin Asst. I couldn't find anything on this company. They responded so fast I thought was automated. They wanted my e-mail address and resume. I got the e-mail, so why do they need my address? The subject was so informal too, just a hello with my name. Not "Your application" or something more professional. No name in the e-mail or title of this person or company. The e-mail had what looked like her first name, a bunch of numbers followed by "@Indeed.com." She said it's showing as "Indeed" and not my e-mail. This time it came from a different person or seemed to. After a bunch of back and forth e-mails, I finally got the freaking description. BTW, Indeed does not give people e-mail addresses and it doesn't have an Inbox or any kind of message center. I already told her I don't have 24/7 access to e-mail but it looks like she's not paying attention. The posting reads funny, and it has some red flags in it that are warnings of phishing scams or jobs that aren't legit: Errors in spelling, capitalization, and grammar are examples. I had visions of the FBI at my door in their dark suits and sunglasses, telling me I'm under arrest for dealing with stolen merchandise, LOL. "Anywhere in the U.S?" "Accept payment on my behalf?" It sounded like she was willing to hire someone without even meeting them first. My age? What kind of business does she(?) own? When I asked about a company website or something about them, she didn't reply. I just think it all sounds funny and my gut says don't have further contact with them. I wanted to post it for others to see & to be warned. It could have been sent to hundreds of people too. Feel free to post anything you've come across as well. This doesn't make sense: The job do not require that you resume to an office, leave your current employment or evacuate your convenience For The first 30 day trials. (from above) Red flags.......

Sounds like it was written by someone for whom English is a second language. Also the receiving of monies s and processing them sounds like money laundering.....indeed it is illegal to ask age although asking for birth date is ok. I'd report it to the site and let them deal with it.

![]() I don't think that site has a "report this post" option on it like Craig's List, which is where a lot of these types of things are posted.
