I thought I would check in about how my new job is going. When I started this job about a month ago I was so freaked out and posted a lot of threads here on Psych Central. Thank you, everyone, for offering me so much advice and support. I can hardly express how fearful I was because of getting a job after being unemployed for a couple of years, and also the new job being extremely fast paced.

Well, here it is about a month later and it is going well. I have learned a lot and feel pretty confident about my job performance. My managers are really great. I have learned to work under pressure. This job requires that I am on my feet and running most of the time. I am exhausted when I get home. I was not as fit as I thought I was when I started this job!

I still have a lot of life problems. I have been working on setting up some kind of mental health care. I have a few free first appointment interviews set up. In the meantime when I want to talk I call various crisis hotlines and the trained volunteers and professional counselors are really helpful.

What I like best about the job is the people I work with are great. I had problems with one coworker but she has markedly improved her attitude. Everyone else I work with has a great attitude and I feel inspired to work hard. This isn't a forever job but it is a good job for getting back into the workforce and I am grateful.
