I'm out on sick leave from my job and was supposed to return this month. Instead I got into long drawn out meetings battling HR for ADA accommodations. Nothing positive was accomplished and now I'm depressed again. I'm requesting a transfer, but HR is fighting it (not my work unit.) I have a job at a huge place, quasi government, so they can transfer me. They are just being miserable, like usual.
I'm starting to think I want to extend my leave. Their policy gives me quite a bit of time, at least another 6 months. I have private LTD as well, but I've heard horror stories about getting claims through. Anyone have experience? I can't force them to transfer me, but that would make the most sense. I hate my workplace sooooooo much. However, the benefits really don't get any better. I would be foolish to ditch this. But it feels like a prison sentence and I have 16 more years! ![]() |

I would stick to the fact that you need accommodations and would like a transfer..you have "at least another 6 months" to figure this out....stay away and work from afar to find the best fit for you.
Things change daily...6 months is a long time for a possible leave of absence and you are getting paid....your in control at the moment...so don't give in to anything yet.
