Hello,
I just joined this forum and am posting for the first time. I was diagnosed bipolar two weeks ago and took a leave from work to adjust to the mood stabilizers. I found that during a manic stage I could not work as a massage therapist, it was too slow and my body couldn't handle it. I just went in for a trial run and even though the mania is gone it was very difficult to do. I'm not sure why I dislike it so much now when I loved it before. Has anyone else had a similar experience or work as a massage therapist? I'm scared I won't be able to continue on in this profession.

Hello Cyclone: I don't have any similar experiences to share. However since this is your first post here on PC... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
