Hi all

I'm so stressed at the moment. I'm at risk of losing my job!! I've had this job since August which is temporary until the end of this month. The thing is I was more or less guarenteed a permanent position and the end...it's all changed now and I have to re apply and have another interview for the same job I've been doing since last August!! I'm so stressed as my partner isn't working due to illness so it's all on me...I feel like I'm going to crack any minute!! Please help

Reapply for another temp position or the permanent one? If it’s the temp job I would reapply but start looking elsewhere if it’s an option for you.

take a deep breath, get your papers in order and reapply. reapply for this job and for any other job that seems it might appeal to you. reapplying for the position you are currently in is a fairly common situation..sometimes the business might want to test the waters & see what the application process brings in, or other times, you might have the position, but they technically "have" to open it up to the public. either way, it's a something that happens. so settle down, get yourself in order and then go rock the interview.

Thank you...I know I could be worrying over nothing but I can't help but worry...I'm rubbish in interviews so that's why I'm worried...that have only advertised in house so hopefully not many will apply...I just know how good at my job I am and my manager thinks so and all the staff I work with thinks so and they all want me to get it...plus...I'm the sole bread winner...my partner is not working at present as he is suffering anxiety and low mood so I have a lot of pressure on my shoulders...i just don't like the uncertainty...

Just keep remembering that whatever happens is what is mean to happen and worrying won't matter either way. I would definitely start considering a back up plan, but focus on how you are going to wow them at the interview.
Just look at it as another of life's curve balls and you will either hit or miss, either way, all will be well.

Are you at risk because you were not good at your job or is it that you have to reapply for a permanent position and you are worried?

I'm amazing at my job but it was just temporary till the end of March and now have to apply for perminant post. I'm just worried in case a lot of people apply for it and I don't get it cos I love the job and I really need it!!

I'm sorry to hear that Phoenix!

I know intervewing is stressful. However in this case, you know what the job entails and you've done it successfully for months, so I would stress that in the interview.

I hope it all works out.
