I have a job interview at Wal-Mart on Thursday. It's not Cna work like I wanted but I can't just wait around.. and my boyfriend is freaking me out with talk about him losing his job. It's not really founded in fact but it's fueling a sense of panic in me to get out there and find employment. I did apply at both nursing homes in town over 2 weeks ago which were both hiring but have not been contacted. Wal-Mart called me like 2 hours after I submitted my application. Fast!! I've never worked retail or in a store before so I'm super nervous. But I can't let my fear of change or the unknown keep holding me back. In all practicality I'm perfectly capable of handling the job duties. I just need to get out of my head and put things in a rational and clear space. And I hate interviewing!! I suck at them!! I feel like I'm weak at my response and I pick the wrong answers. Plus I've never done this work before I don't know the right response. Ugh.

Google good answers to interview questions on customer service. That's basically what retail is. Best of luck!

Say that you are people person and enjoy helping people and you learn fast. In my experience retail hires on a spot. All they need to know is if you have previous criminal records and what hours you can work. Good luck!!! Also smart move to not sit around but go and look for a job. I see people complaining being broke and still not trying to get a job! Good for you!!!

When you already have a job, you can continue looking for CNA position.
Thanks for this!

I plan to hold on to hope for a Cna job but I will take this at Wal-Mart for sure!! I can definitely help direct people to products and hopefully find prices.. I think I'm interviewing for a 4 am position that entails stocking in the fresh department and price change. All brand new to me. Stocking is obvious and easy peasy. Just rotate and put out new. But learning the little hand gadgets seems slightly terrifying. Lol. My boyfriend says it's not so bad tho. So I'm thinking if I can just smother my panic brain I can manage this!!! Thanks for the tips and response!

Good for you! Congrats. Hand gadgets are easy. They aren’t high tech. They’ll train you. It’s usually just pushing few buttons
Thanks for this!
