I get a one hour lunch 12-1 pm but no break other than that. She constantly walks by my desk to make sure I am there. We get food delivered and it comes as early as 11 am. If she sees me touch it she send a nasty e-mail. She reported me to the executive director and HR already. A few weeks ago she called a zoom meeting with the exec, the program chief and me. I yelled at the exec and said my boss was a nasty back stabber.

Then a week later my boos apologized for making my job harder. She said she was only dong what was was told. That's BS. She made up the break rule.

Then yesterday I was upstairs at 11:30 throwing out some bad food. I got back fro my break at 1 pm and saw a nasty e-mail from her asking of I was taking an unauthorized break at 11:30. She didn't see me at my desk or in the lab. Now she wants me to get permission and notify her any time I will not be at my desk or in the lab. I'm like a dog on an effing leash.

It sounds like your boss needs some management training to train herself and her manager.

Is there any way to get her or the exec director to be more flexible about when lunch is? Like if the food arrives at 11:30, that's when lunch starts?

No. She was chewing out my coworker the other day for taking a late lunch. In the conference room with the door open. I reported her to the the chief. The chief told me that other people complained too. The executive director isn't even in the building much anymore. She's just filling in until we can get a real exec. But that hasn't happened because the pay is too low. A coworker just told me the place is like a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off.
