This Saturday, I'll be chairing a speaker meeting at a treatment center. My friend chairs the meeting normally and I go with her, and she's gonna be on a mountain so she asked me to fill in! Typically you're supposed to have a year, but unfortunatly not many are willing to chair at treatment centers, and I've worked my steps so she asked me. What an honor! I have yet to line up a speaker but I have faith that it will work itself out!

it's Saturday..........how did it go?!! (asked not knowing if the meeting is day or night Chairing my first meeting! )

as if you'd put people to sleep!! sheesh woman! :: eye roll :: have a bit more faith in yerself as you've already done the work up to this point and that is a lot to talk about and not dull at all as it takes honesty and courage to keep at it. it is different for everyone but there are many shared similarities and your chairing this meeting will give the opportunity for others to hear those similarities.

keep up the good work in your path of sobriety. sharing what works for you is helpful to read. thanks!!

Wow......!!!! Today was crazy! I got a new to me car, then I went and made an amends, then I went and met a newcomer with 4 days, and then I took her with me to the meeting I chaired, and I couldn't find a speaker, and then I told my story. It was....amazing! I didn't have a plan at all, just spoke. And afterwards there was time for discussion and people were thanking me for spending an hour with them, for sharing my experience, for talking about the solution, for not telling a "drunkalog". They said I gave them inspiration, that I'm so successful at four and half months. There was a guy with 2 years of sobriety that said I was one of the best speakers he's ever heard. It was just awesome! Then I took the newcomer to her mom's work and met her mom, so her mom knew her daughter had really been with someone in the program. It was quite an experience because my new car is a standard and I've never had a standard. So I'm learning how to drive this car and we shrieked a lot haha! Then I drove it home and made some mistakes but I made it home. Wow...I'm exausted!!!!!!!

Rayna, that is so wonderful you were able to give your story. Those things are the best things to here and the most inspiring to listen to. Great job and that day I hope you will never forget. Remember that day when the times start to get tough and it will help you through them then. I am proud of you for all the work you put into this. Again GREAT job.

Thanks guys! I slept long and hard, haha! Now I've gotta get out and practice that clutch. I did some reading online about clutches. I'm so glad I didn't get this car before I got the program. I would have gotten frustrated and quit! I love sobriety!

Thanks again everyone! I have to say, that now that I'm in a position to reach out to others, that I get to get out of my own head a lot more! The changes in me are spectacular; I'm noticing changes every day. I'm so glad I have this community to share it with!!
