I read your post in general about the move to Florida! Sounds like a good move to me! I would definetly suggest starting to contact the fellowship down there where you're planning to move. Call the central office there and explain your situation and see what kind of help they can offer. They might know of someone who needs a roommate or something! Starting building a network of recovery there. I think that would be a good move. Good luck! You have so much time to plan, I know it will work out!

Thanks Rayna! I'm going to start making calls this week to different places. See about the whole pdoc and T thing and gonna see if one of my friends down there will send me one of their newspapers. I know it'll work out the best way, just so difficult doing it on my own.

The biggest thing I'm worried about is my check... Afraid I won't draw enough to make by each month. I have a co-pay on all my medications and I have over 12 different medications I take. Plus gas money, car insurance, basic needs, then rent and whatever goes along with that. Afraid I won't be able to make all that with the little money I draw.

I'm trying to focus on my recovery right now but it's hard to focus solely on my recovery when I have so much crap to do before moving.

Stacey, I realize it's not an ideal situation, but could you maybe get into a group home of some sort, just for a little while, so you have a support system as soon as you get there and can get a feel for how much money you need to live down there?

You might qualify for a sober living board and care home where everyone is in recovery, and if they find out they're using they can't live there any more.

Maybe you could get into a day treatment program one or two days a week too, just until you get settled and can find your own doctor and therapist.

Good luck sweetie. (((((((((((((((((Stacey))))))))))))))

Good idea... I'm going to try checking into every possibility I can. Will check on that as well.

A friend of mine is getting into a sober living place. They base your rent on 1/3 of your income. And the one she's moving too is all female so that's cool! And everyone's sober.

I just talked with my friend Michelle who lives in Niceville, one of the areas I was looking at moving to. She said I could stay with her until I got on my feet and found a place to stay on my own. So that parts covered now... Just the rest is still stressful to deal with.
