It seems as though our Substance and Alcohol Abuse forum has slowed down a lot lately. I miss all the posts and posters, but hope everyone is doing well. Please share how you are doing and what you are doing to stay clean/sober TODAY. Hope to hear from all of you soon! How's everyone doing? Please share!

How am I doing and how am I staying clean for today? I'm doing fairly well. Still struggling not to use, but it's getting a little easier each day. I'm reading my NA book that I finally got, attending meetings, and spending time with my boyfriend (who is a recovering addict as well). I'm putting ME first for a change instead of everyone else, so that's helped a lot.

Bama, I doing good. I know I am not here as much as I would like to be but the other site I work at is taking alot of my time up in trying to get everything up and going the way we want it too. But I am doing good, still clean and sober just for today, because today is all we really have.

I've been relaxing and feeling busy at the same time. Just coming home and vegging, not even finding energy for the computer. I've hit the emotional stage. Not crying all the time but feeling drained. Doing well though, just in between and blah. Coming up on 6 months here. Just a day at a time.

Stacy…
I’m fine as well. Working too hard, but the extra money comes in handy.
Still making my meetings. I take one into a detox every Tuesday nite, and chair a Big Book study every other Wednesday. And I help my sponsor make coffee for a speaker meeting Sundays.

Mostly I have been just too busy to post as much as I would like, but I have been following your new boyfriend story. Rayna has an excellent take on this business of romance early in sobriety. Reread her stuff. Then relax, you are hardly the first person to walk that path. God wants us to couple, we are built that way.

On Saturday I will have seven years without a drink, I wouldn’t have put a nickel on my chances when I first started. If I can do it, Stacy, you can do it too.

Rayna, hope you feel better soon. I think we all have those stages of feeling emotionally drained. Hope you find strength you need soon. ((((( Rayna )))))

Glad to hear you are doing well, Richard! I know it has to be exciting to be 7 years into recovery and helping others along the way is awesome.

I know I can make it. How's everyone doing? Please share! I'm doing really good now. The best thing about the new boyfriend is that he's a support system for me outside of my rehab meetings. Before him, I didn't really have support from people outside of meetings. I needed some sort of support, ya know? He's that support. He encourages me to do well and when I feel the urge to use, he reminds me of how I told him I felt during my relapse and it makes me snap back into reality again. It's nice having him around, but we're definitely taking it slow.
