I feel like a bit of a loser for keeping posting the same tiny milestones, but hey I keep trying right. Today is 30 days sober for me. I wish I felt happier about it, but I'm still getting really bad urges to drink.

Very litterally just taking it one day at a time right now.

those "one day at a time" add up, splitimage. BTW how did your convention go? i hope you found something there that can strengthen your resolve.

Thanks Madisgram. And the convention was totally awesome. I had a great time. They had so many really fantastic speakers, it was incredible. It left me exhausted but feeling really inspired.

I'm going to another day long conference in May - that's the annual meeting put on by our area intergroup. The speaker for the day is Clancy I from Irvine CA. I don't know if you've ever heard him speak, but he's incredible. I heard him speak a couple of years ago, and was blown away. He really lives AA principles. I can't wait to hear him again.

AWESOME re the convention. glad u plan another. there's something magical that happens when one attends. you're on the right track, SI. you have been honest with us with your struggle to stop drinking. that shows a willingness and humilty too. both traits we aspire to. thanks for letting us know your experience at the convention. you are "the message" too by doing so.

Well done on 30 days splitimage, don't feel silly for posting - it is indeed a milestone and one to be proud of.

You know something??? If you can do 30 days, you can do a year. Just do it a minute at a time. When you have cravings, eat chocolate -- that replaces the sugar that you're not getting from the booze. Drink lots of liquids -- just not booze. LOL

Go easy on yourself & just keep busy. I KNOW you can do this!! You've already proven it by doing 30 days!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! (((Hugs))) Lee
