well do u want to keep taking them because it makes u feel different or are u taking them even when u don't need them, cause in the long run pills can do more damage to ur body even though they are meant to help us we form a dependensie of them and then one day when we are taken off them we go nuts cause we can't have them cause our brains have gotten so used to them that when they are gone ur brain keeps telling u, "Hey we still need them, lets go crazy again and they will give them back to us." Pills screw up ur body they bugger up ur liver and do long term damage on the brain even pills meant to balance out all the crap running through our brains.

well,.......both reasons i guess. i have a terrible problem with my teeth, due to a car crash, they have all cracked and broke. i have 11 absess's, i've had 7 pulled thru out the years (i have panic attacks at the dentist and dr's, and i have no insurance, and no $) so fixing them right now would cost....$6,000.00!!! and i sure as heck don't have that. my mouth is in constant moderate pain, i have lost 50ibs., and can hardly eat or drink, and i cannot leave the house, and haven't smiled in years. so i'm sad and in pain. i take them to feel good everywhere, my head and my heart. i know i have a problem, but i can't imagine ending it while in pain. i go thru a mon. supply in days.

Dear Tiny,

I have to be careful because sometimes I find myself taking too many pain killers. I don't feel high when taking the pain meds but it helps me to relax sometimes at night. It is easy to become a pill popper if your not careful. Only having so much money each month limits me and my doctor will only prescribe enough for one month at a time.

You're not alone... Pills are a "friend" of mine from way back when I was 10 and 11 years old. Anything from Lortab to Valium and Xanax to Adderall. It becomes abuse when you use them more than the doctor has prescribed and it also becomes abuse if you use them and they aren't prescribed to you and you are taking them just for a high. If you feel you have a problem with pills or any other drug, please go seek help. I know I don't have much room to talk right now with my current situation, but just because I have a drug problem doesn't mean I don't care about others' problems. So please seek some treatment.

i know they could be prescribed for me if i could afford a doctor. i also don't understand why a pill that can make someone happy who is depressed for it's side effects can't be used if it is a narcotic? why can't the drug companies make a safer one? and why can't narcotics be given for there side effects? many other pills are? it just doesn't make sense! i take the pills because i would be in severe constant pain, but i also enjoy the "happy feelings" that come with them. and seeking help and/or treatment isn't an option right now. i just wondered if there was anyone here i could relate to in this area. thank you for your reply. pill poppers??

TINY the last post yes yes ye s i wonder this too....why cant i be prescribed darvacet or vicodin every day as an "antidepessant" if I excel when i take them and they make me happy and i am energitic and dont mind living...what is so wrong with that? What is the real difference being say depakote or zyprexa or prozac than taking a narcotic when ultimatly it makes you feel how you want to feel and really that is what the goal is? Why do they rule out narcotics as being an antidepressant? It makes it expensive to try and live a happy life......................I have abig problme with pills........not as bad as it used to be but I love my narcotics and use them for an antidepressant.........no problems socially, economically or anything. I havent missed work. I am not late. I interact 120 percent better with people on them ..... hmmm...something stinks here...................

thank you for your post/reply vulgerlove.....

it's nice to know i'm not alone in my thoughts on this subject......

i was once given prozac/sarafem for it's side effect of relieving fibromyalgia pain, why??? when it costs 10 times more then vicodin and i had no insurance....

i couldn't afford it for long...

but a months supply of vicodin was affordable, but because my pain will be forever, doctor said it was not an option!!

how much sense did that make?.....none

i too, am a fully functioning person on pain pills...

it takes care of my pain and my depression, agoraphobia, anxiety and self-esteem.....

i can better function as a mother and housewife while taking these drugs...

but because of that, they will not be prescribed to me...

i just don't get it?!?!

The difference between say prozac helping your fibromyalgia and vicodin is that vicodin has been proven to be physically and mentally addicting while prozac doesn't really have that much of a threat. When using medications long term, you have to search for a medication that isn't potentionally going to be abused. I believe that's why there's a big difference in narcotics and antidepressents. That's just my take on it, though.
