is this normal?
i am light weight 5'7, 109 lbs. and i had two drinks and a sip of wine and i totally ended up puking and i couldnt even move afterward...has this ever happened to anyone? i have bipolar and borderline, so alcohol is a great escape for my anxiety. i know i need to just stay sober. i'm so much easier that way. |

possible dehydration on top of decreased tolerance.
I'm also bipolar and bpd although much better with the bpd since I'm forty eight and had it since my teens. miserable effing illness. I totally get that alcohol is the great comforter...be careful with laxatives herbal or otherwise. Dehydration, heat, losing the ability to poop normally...educate yourself I guess is what I'm saying. Keep on keeping on. Can't promise it gets better but I guess it does get a little easier. |

Maybe being at such a low weight made you vomit after a couple drinks. I agree, be careful with the laxatives--even if they are herbal. I've been down that road too and it can be dangerous.

palemoss the not being able to move concerns me. puking will contribute to fluid loss which can result in electrolyte imbalance which means like a battery dying, no charge, if you have too much of sodium or potassium ie not balanced, the electricity which "runs" your cells can't jump across - really I do have a bachelor of science degree! - but this can be a reason why you feel like you can't move. Gatorade, that's what 911 (999 in uk?) told me when I had food poisoning and was superpuking. there is no-cal. this is one reaon why people go into coma, electrolyte imbalance.

palemoss i'd recommend your talking with your pdoc about the alcohol and laxatives. clearly you need help with both. and hankster is correct. lack of electrolytes can cause your heart to stop..happened to me. also your meds and alcohol don't mix. it's a dangerous thing to be doing. i went into a semi coma doing this. fortunately i lived. now i'm 21 yrs. sober. i do hope you will get help.
