I hide behind my prescription meds. At the moment I really love to Klonopin and Ativan send me onto another level. I feel nothing.
Yes, I drink a fair bit of alcohol too - mainly social. Probably 5 times a week. I don't see it as a problem.
But meds... I don't know. I've given my body a serious shake-up by taking Citalopram, about 40mg out the blue.
I don't want to give up my Klonopin - it's my comfort blanket

You probably know this already, but just in case you don't combining alcohol with benzodiazapenes is really dangerous - they're both central nervous system depressants, and it's really easy to accidentally overdose.

Also I can't see a Dr. prescribing both klonopin and Ativan, since they do effectively the same thing. Are you double doctoring to get the scripts or buying them off the street. if so it's illegal and you risk serious consequences.

I don't know how much klonopin you're prescribed, but if you're taking more than prescribed, or using it to numb out - that's a sign of abuse. The benzo's are all highly addictive, and you have to be really careful with them. Really try to just take them as prescribed.

I go to my GP. Haven't found a pdoc I like. My GP prescribed Rivotril AM, lunch and PM. Only 0.5mg though. He said if I was having a panic attack, I should take the Ativan as it is faster acting.
I don't believe I'll be able to tell when I am "addicted". Had over a bottle of wine Sat night. Only a glass and a bit last night.
No - I don't ever buy drugs over on the street; but I hoard through the good times for the bad.
I guess Klonopin is mean to numb you a bit when things get too much
With regards to alcohol - I don't know @ what stage it becomes a problem. In South Africa it's very common to have a drink or 2 after work @ a pub, or at home.

Do I test whether I am addicted to alcohol or not? How many days without a drink is considered ok? Yesterday it was just 1.5 glasses. Seems feasible.
Trying to not take any Benzo's today either - not sure I can tho...

Idk hey, how about cutting out the drinking and see how long it takes for you to react, and be über honest about your reaction. eg, saying you miss having a drink when in actuality you're 'needing' a drink. I think it will give you a clearer picture of where you're at. That's all I can come up with as opposed to speaking to a professional.

Sugahorse, listen friend I was addicted to Valium and Xanax with the occasional stretch of klonopin or Ativan. It's a hard habit to break I was away from them for 6 week early this year. Now I can speak, write and drive like a big girl. Boy I know how hard it is to give up, the physical p arts the hardest. My docs won't give me what I want even if I think I need it now I get buspar not a benzo. Benzos mess up your frontal lobe they do screw with your ability to remember and to reason. I still miss them but I'm moving farther away from them all the time. I even would be so stoned on Xanax I'd fall down. If all you take is the prescribed dose of klonopin not so bad its a low level benzo kind of a comfort benzo.lol.
Take care and b very careful it's easy to go to far, been there.
Be good. Sami

I did to, be careful. One time I ended up in ICU with heart problems and I hadn't really taken that much. It can really sneak up and get you when you least expect. Sami

For me not really too much at the time was less than 15 mg of Xanax. I was a heavy user so I was used to much more. So it was a surprise when I started having trouble breathing and my heart went super fast then really slow. It sucked.
