So Im not sure who knows what coricidin is and I dont feel like giving too much description if you dont.. (dont want to give any negative ideas) but it would be awesome to communicate with people that have used it chronically in the past. I am a recovering drug addict with 2 years under my belt but at times struggle with communicating w fellow recovering friends simply because they dont understand how scary of a drug coricidin is and how it is addictive. I used it for years and years and got to the point where I could not function with out it , just like any other drug.. but its not your average every day substance and just wanted to know if anybody else has had experiences with this drug. I am not interested in talking about tripping and what not , but am interested in meeting people that have had similiar experiences with chronic use of it and recovery..thank you much!

gemineye, i was unaware of coricidin abuse so i researched it. it has dangerous ingredients if taken for long periods of time or too large a dose. this abuse affects the brain and heart creating sometimes permanent damage of the brain and heart and permanent psychosis. it can also damage the liver. i am hoping you are not still abusing this OTC. deaths have been reported when abused among other serious health related conditions. if you are still using it my suggestion would be see your doctor. if you are "reformed" as you state then stay that way, IMHO.
in my alcohol recovery it is suggested we not glorify our (previous) use stories. to me it's romanticizing the drink. just me. talking about our sobriety is suggested instead.

thanks madisgram but as you can read what I wrote previously , I have been clean for over 2 years from drugs and alcohol and going to school to be an addiction counselor. I'm very much aware of all the negatives regarding coricidin. I have had mri's and catscans and Im healthy as far as I know. I appreciate your concern though , I was just frustrated because as a recovering addict I understand its not the drug that matters when connecting w other addicts , but it is refreshing to talk to people who have recovered from the coricidin use as well.I am absolutely 100% not trying to romantize about it , if anything I would explain to people to stay away from it if they were currently using. Reflecting on the use of it and its effects are not my intention at all. As you have other alcoholics to talk to , I was curious if there were any other coricidin abusers to talk to
