So I've tried getting a prescription refill since even the recommended dose would have run out before the appointment. I mean I really don't want to hurt myself or others but I don't know how to control what I feel inside. I just feel kind of angry that I couldn't get a refill the thing said it would take a couple days well its been four days and I still have no refill so I am angry they prescribed me meds for anxiety and then I cant even get them.
I am such an idiot I can't even get ahold of the doctor, but I suppose it will be ok if I am honest or I hope I just don't want ECT forced on me. |

...dear Hellion, you're not an idiot at all. Just because you can't get ahold of your T or pdoc isn't your fault, you have tried. It is their oversight or negligence as to why you don't have you meds, not fair to you!
Usually being honest is best way to present your situation. Don't know about your state but would be surprised if ECT could be forced upon you. Do you have a case worker, counselor or patient advocate? If not, ask for one. I don't know your exact situation but are you afraid the doc would involuntarily admit you? Any way you can switch docs? As hard as it is try not to SI, it will only give them more ammunition to use against you. If you can't make it thru the weekend, the ER might be an option but I doubt they are gonna jump right into ECT. Try & be kind to yourself, you are in my thoughts. ![]() Keep posting to vent & with updates. Chaotic ![]() |

hellion have you called you pdoc's office to explain the situation? usually an appt. is scheduled before u run out. also if you've taken the med for about 6 months or more it is more crucial the med to be filled. don't know which med you're on so my thoughts may not apply.

I don't know where you are but Saturday lots of places are closed. I would try going there if they are open, and then calling the office, and the Doctor again. I find with my meds I always have to keep a handle on the meds etc because my Dr. is really not going to do that. He gives me refills every three months whether I need them or not.
I find also that I have to read the rx's before I leave his office too just to make sure there are no problems. Dr's don't always get the rx correct so you have to be your own advocate. My Dr. does go over the rx's with me, but I have found errors in the past that he corrected for me. He is only human, and busy so we still need to check. Make sure you take your meds as prescribed. If you take an extra one as I do some times, I make sure the next day i take one less. That way I will never run out. Hope things work out for you. Its very scary to run out of meds!!!!! ...and you are definately not an idiot!!!!!! p.s. I had a few occasions when I got my anxiety meds they were incorrect in the bottle. I got my meds for a while at CVS in Falls Church Va. and one time I counted them when I got home and they were missing about five pills. This also happened again. The next time I changed pharmacies, and reported the incident to the main office! They als contacted me again after that and hopefully resolved the serious problem!!. Good way to scam drugs from someone maybe working there. I wonder how many people have had this happen! Its very important to count the meds as well. I think we sometimes assume too much, and need to be more responsible in what we do especially with our meds which we need!!!

Have u tried an emergency clinic? I don't know if u have them where u are, but we have them here, and emergency clinics are usually open on weekends or later in the evenings during the week. They probably won't be able to give u one with refills, but they could probably give u a months worth if u explain it. Reminds me, I'm in the same boat. I am going to end up having to go to my emergency clinic bc I can't get to the doctor during my working hours. And u are not an idiot.
