I smoke a lot of pot and suppose I have an addictive personality. Moderation is not something I practice, and I come from a long line of experimenting with anything I could get my hands on. My husband doesn't smoke pot, but my best friend does.
![]() So, my dealer texted me that it is getting dry and I said No thank you. I hope this is the first step in me quitting weed. I'm liberal and voted pro-legalization. Weed is part of my being and personality if that makes sense. I've been smoking ganga for 27 years and spent a lot of time following The Grateful Dead. I don't think it is bad for everyone, but I can't handle it. I also don't do AA or NA, no offense it's just not for me. Has anyone else here had a problem with or quit smoking pot? It's harder than most would think or take seriously IMO. ![]() Peace & Hugs, TnT

Good for you to trying to quit
![]() I have never personally had a problem with pot- I do smoke it on occassion, sometimes more than other times, but I am not an addictive person. My boyfriend, however, smokes pot what seems to me like all day every day. It bothers me. I've asked him if he plans on always being like that, and he has said yes. He has lots of friends that are the same, one who joked saying he thinks he'll die if he quits smoking ![]() My point is, I know that quitting smoking pot can be just as challenging as quitting other addictions. My boyfriend starts to show signs of mental withdrawal if he doesnt get to smoke for a whole morning or afternoon. Good luck, I think its great that you said NO. ![]()

Good for you! I know what you mean about an addictive personality. I can get addicted to anything! I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict and believe me, getting sober was no picnic. I got off booze and pills at the same time.
![]() I give you ALOT of credit for telling your dealer NO when he offered you some weed. That took alot of guts! I'm PROUD of you!!! ![]() As we say in our group, keep on keepin on! God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

My husband who is 43 smokes every day after work and several times on the weekends. He has tried to quit since he feels crappy in the mornings for work etc but he ALWAYS goes back. It was a very big problem we went to therapy about for the first years of our marriage, but then my depression and bipolar reared their ugly head for the first time and that has completely taken over our marriage, worse than the pot did. Anyhow just wanted to say that he, and his best friend, have tried to quit and always go back - it is very difficult. I always hear that the pot people used to smoke is not the same as what you, and my husband might be smoking - and that is why it might be so difficult to quit.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say that last night my best friend texted me that she had some & am I interested. Again, I said "No, I'm broke." So I'm really, really trying to turn over a new leaf. Thank you for all the positive replies. It really helps. Peace & Hugs, TnT
