Also, everyone, I thought I would let you know that I quit smoking tobacco.

It just makes me nauseous. Even when I have gotten it out to smoke it, I stopped myself. The feeling of nausea has outweighed the head rush. Seriously, smoking tobacco is grossss

Another thing with cooking, a lot of recipes require a LOT of weed, and I just don't have that steady of a stream of available weed yet

I don't think it causes schizophrenia, high CBD strains have actually been shown to be helpful for some schizophrenia patients. What I was saying is that when I smoked it I would have mini-psychotic episodes. Still considered psychosis, just not schizophrenia. If you checked out that link they show that if the dopamine in the striatum gets too low (brain damage from marijuana!) the drug can cause psychosis. Fortunately brain damage is often reversible. They still aren't sure what causes schizophrenia, I'm pretty sure I carry the "gene" but don't have schizophrenia, I have other mental health problems but not schizophrenia. The same gene that they believe causes schizophrenia causes bipolar, ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, Autism etc. You said you have ADHD, so it probably does "run" in your family. It's hard to get off of. Researchers have a hard time getting people to stay in the program so they can research it; it is "uncomfortable" and habitual users will blame anything else besides the weed (they can't sleep well because the "pillow" is not right :-) and eventually opt out of the program.

Oh wow, thanks for this Perna! I experienced all of these withdrawal symptoms, I was a chronic user, every day more than 3x a day for more than decade, I never ran out for more than four hours. It really explains a lot from what I know, if we don't sober up, get off the drugs, our MH could stay in perpetual ruins for as long as we continue using for.

My husband used to smoke pot alot, then gave it up. Once in a while he'll have some and i love the way he acts on it he is so mellow an it do believe it helps some people relax. I don't think it is good for a person with a mental condition although, as it may make it worse, especially if your parinoid to begin with. I know myself i tried it a few times and haated it and was begging God for sobriety back. Some people can handle it and some can't.

Any substance has the ability to become addictive. I have two ex-friends who were hell-bent that they never had a problem (they would blow $350 a week on weed then tell me they understand what being poor is like...) and one finally admitted that she is addicted to it and when she goes a day without it she starts smoking cigarettes to compensate.

I think it all depends on the person, really. Some people have addictive personalities (I know I do) so I avoid alcohol, etc. Some don't.

It's the illegality of it combined with the fact that I don't like being out in public or around people any more than is absolutely necessary. I'm a buy groceries at 3am and shop online for everything else type of person.
