Add the traditional dose of family disfunction, lots of free flowing alcolocol and I still didn't drink. And I'm feeling very proud of myself for that. I just kept playing the drink through to the end in my head and winding up in another detox--not a pretty picture.

Thanks for the support from everyone here.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!

Easter was my last holiday to get through sober before I got my year and last year's was really tough. I kept staring at my aunt's wine. This year was still stressful, but a friend of mine came with me from the program, so it helped, and we went to a meeting right afterwards.

An oldtimer in my homegroup says something like this about about holidays, "I'll go to your family's and you go to mine, and thats the best way to deal with family gatherings" or something along those lines.

Family can push my buttons more than anyone, without even trying. Holidays have definetely been the hardest things to stay sober through.

So proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
