I have referred to my years of prescription pill addiction as "being in a coma for ten years", because that is truly what it was like for me. I didn't pay attention to anything around me, nor did I care about much of anything except getting high and being codependent.
I am going on a year clean (except for the one slip up) and I am truly disturbed at how crazy the world has gotten recently. These shootings are insane. The controversy over transgendered & bathrooms is mind blowing. White vs. Black hate on such a level is heartbreaking! I feel like I am in the damn twilight zone with all this madness! No wonder I stayed high for so long...the world is a scary place to be sober in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree refuse2sink. I call the 2000's the lost decade, due to my drinking.
I truly don't understand how there can be so much hatred in the world today. It seems like every day I read about more people being killed. It makes me sad, but it doesn't make me want to drink. splitimage |

I just wish things could be the way they were 15 years ago. At least where I lived, I felt like people were getting past all the racial stuff. I feel like we are backsliding as a country.
