i dont have a perscription to xanax...but i would take it any way. about every day or so i would crush up a xanax bar and snort it. but due to some recent events in my life...i am quiting xanax, and i dont know if i am feeling withdrawls or if its something else.
i have been so light headed to the piont i feel the room going out from underneath me. and its almost like i have some kind of paranioa...everything freaks me out. im twitchy and shakey.
i have talked with other people about this and i keep getting different veiws on this.
is it withdrawl or something else?

Sounds like it could be withdrawal—I’ve had similar reactions coming off benzos. I am not a doctor so I really can’t say for sure. I know—that does not help much. Most of my symptoms passed in a week or so.

I am glad you have decided to get clean. This is a good step in the right direction. Keep us posted on how you feel and your thoughts (if you want). I’ll be here most of the weekend, so PM me if you feel an urge to use or just want to talk. Sometimes it helps to talk to another person.

Sounds like it could be withdrawl - but again I'm not a Dr., if things get really bad consider going to an ER. Congratulations on deciding to stop using,

Take care of yourself.

Hi,
How much were you used to taking? I can't answer your question until I know that piece of the puzzle.

Congrats for trying to get off of it!
Take care,
Okie

I had pretty severe withdrawal coming off Xanax. I took it off and on for several years for anxiety, though my doc was reluctant to prescribe it to me. Finally, when my last prescription ran out, and knowing how reluctant he was to prescribe it, I just decided to bear the withdrawal and get off it. I had severe pain and tingling in my hands, arms, and feet, as well as severe anxiety for about a week. I really felt I had no other choice but to do it this way...cold turkey, but a discussion on this subject in the Drug Questions thread led to comments that one should wean off it rather than cold turkey, which can be dangerous.

Glad you made it to the other side!

I withdrew in hospital as I had seizures trying to do it on my own. Only took .5 tid but I'd taken it for years.

Damajdancer, take good care with this stuff!!
