I messed up on Saturday and took one 1mg pill and a .25mg pill of xanax its not prescribed to me. I am currently in a residential inpatient ptsd program and they do random drug screens and do test for benzo's I am not prescribed any benzo's. I am freaking out wondering if I should tell my therapist or just wait and see if I get a drug test.

Benzos stay in your system for a loooooong time. I see it at the detox I work at now and the former methadone clinic I worked at for a couple months.
Every one is different but its the rule rather than the exception that they stick around

Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand

So it might be better to tell my therapist and suffer the consequences then chance passing the drug test that could happen at any time. I had one this past Thursday. On average have them once a week. One week I had 3 of them. Monday, Thursday and Sunday.

It might be better to be honest. Especially if they are going to find out anyway. Do they kick you out if you have a positive tox screen?

I'm not sure if they will a girl showed up here drunk on the first day and they sent her to rehab. I know where not supposed to be using here I don't know if they would kick me out they might take away my weekend passes. I'm going to have to go through the paperwork they gave me my first few days here and see if they say anything

Depends on how long you've been using it. Typically it's 3 days if it was recreational use

gg..you started this post a while ago..how are you doing? So you told them...are you still wanting to use? Or is it really using? Or you just needed to relax?
Do they have you medicated?
