I get drunk...We get sober...

Find a community of people that will offer support for you IRL in dealing with your addiction...

Like a teepee Roz..one stick alone will not stand well against even the smallest pressure...but the more sticks you add that lean upon each other,,,the stronger it becomes.

The power of community cannot be over rated..

IMHO.

Lenny...

you are so right about needing IRL support....and i like the teepee analogy ty.

i have arranged to see an alcohol counsellor this week and will ask her what help re: groups is available coz...it's sad but drinking is rife in this neighborhood....so no IRL support.

Lenny...ty for advice and support ok?

Of Course Roz..

It was what was given me..it would be a sin to not pass it on..that is what keeps it and us alive..

Find some fellow alcoholics,,they will know just how to hug you and give you strength..

((((((((corky))))))))

You know better than anybody how i'm doing. You know i'm down to just 2 or 3 pints of beer a day with no jack and i haven't even seen an alcohol counsellor yet.

But...aside from the support of peeps in this forum...I mostly attribute that to the hours of support you have always given me.

Thanks for always helping me stay strong. Where does the strength come from?

Well, I think that sometimes we have to be weak in order to allow something stronger than ourselves to take over. Whether that is God for you (as is for me) or changing people, places and things (I do this too) or finding community and fellowship... sometimes it's borrowing someone else's strength that gets us through.

It's one day.... one hour.. even one minute at a time. Where does the strength come from?
