I hope its okay that Im here. I drink almost every day. Always beer, usually between 6 - 10 per sitting. Its not bad yet. I dont drink until 5pm and if I go a day or two without, I dont get sick or shake.

Ive had addiction problems since high school. My worst was 2003. I was on crack and completely psychotic. Ive also had problems with pot and acid. Up until a few months ago I was smoking pot every day from the minute I got off work until the minute I went to bed. Smoking a joint now and then is harmless IMO, but I get compulsive about it. Then I decided to stick to alcohol b/c Im looking for a job and might have to pass a test. Now the drinking's become a daily thing and to top that off Ive had run-ins with crystal and coke. I can already see that this could get ugly and I dont want to go through that again.

I dont think Im ready to swear off anything altogether right now. Ive tried AA, but It never felt right to me. Im glad I found this board. Its nice to know Im not alone in my plight. Thanks for listening.

no your not alone and AA never felt right to me either...but It did give me a place to go too in the early days before I knew the difference between my head and arse...I think maybe you may need some additional support at this time as drinking is just a sympton of deeper emtional issues that most times don't go away untreated...

Welcome to our board! I hope you find much support here.

It's ok if your not ready to give anything up yet - you have made the first step and admitted it might be a problem.

Many hugs if safe!
