spent last night with a group of guys, listened to music, ordered pizza, drank beer, lots of it...

woke up this morning with a severe headache but that was after waking during the night and needing one more blanket... my water jug froze solid

i haven drank in several weeks, maybe months... just kind of got away from it for health reasons and trying to intervene with my moms using alcohol right now too...

she uses for pain management, she was in a bad car wreck when i was little (DUI)

now days she is retired but she worked her whole life with a broken back

i think she is doing good right now but i worry quite a bit...

for me, drinking is becoming less and less desireable... im really glad to see the work the corporations in the alcohol industry have put into the 'stop and think' programs.....

alcohol has its uses and benefits imo, and i know most posts here are about total abstinence and i dont mean to mess others up at all...

just, i know some folks can have a drink or two occasionally and they can still be responsible about it...

waking up like i did this morning might sound to some like its irresponsible...

i dont deny anyone their opinions of me, its good to have an opportunity to explain or come to better understandings myself with discussion amongst others who also deal with these kinds of things..

thanks for the chance to do this Doc

Me too nowhere...most folks I know can do just fine with one or two...some even(God Forbid) leave the table with some left in the glass...

But not me. Nope,,never could,,never will...But that's fine with me...there are far worse living destinies...

And my opinion of you is what it is regardless of last night or tonight...it rests primarily upon the words that I have read via the thousands of posts you offer...you are a good man...

But my opinion is the least of your concern...it is the one "you" have that will most guide your day...

I hope your head feels better...God,,I don't miss those...

Lenny

thanks Lenny, i can tell you are a guy who knows something about this all.. ive read you as much as i can, whenever i can... i feel like we connect in ways that go past all issues... we both search for better health always

some aspirin have helped the head, some emotional processing is helping the feelings...

my opinion of me is far better than it once was and having a healthy opinion of myself improves with my health

im getting better at communicating my thoughts finally... coming out of this slow dark sleep is turbulent for me sometimes.. i am blessed to have caring and understanding others around me..

you and the guys help a lot in times like this... TIMBERWOLV wrote me a post on the thread in mens today that helps a lot.. THANKS TIMBER

waking up with a headache is no fun. Had a few myself back when i was young. I never did stomach it well. A light weight they called it. I was very happy with that because of my family background with drinking. They could never walk away with just 1 or 2.

Heath is one of the most important reason not to drink.
I am sorry about your Mom that is so very hard. I wish she could get into a rehad program. Also something for her back pain other than drinking. It would make your life easyer. FOr you and her....
no one thinks bad of you...

NWTR,
no one thinks less of you...
and I agree with Lenny that the only opinion that really matters is what you think of yourself.

Jme, but it took awhile for me to make peace with the reflection in the mirror. I still have days that I have to "remind" myself of my worth.

Thank you for sharing.
