Hi, I think I may have certain traits of aspd. Im not sure if I match the criteria to be diagnosed. Recently I have been made aware of how I deal and interact with people.
And have started looking on line out of interest.
When I was in my late teens I transgressed and have been in a secure hospital for the last 12 years.
I still dont have real remorse and just feel numb when I look back on what happened. My first diagnosis was paranoid shizophrenia as I reported symptoms which I had I think due to amphetamine addiction. Also brief hypomania due to the sudden withdrawal from clozaril.
The main thing I notice at the moment is I feel untouchable / invincible. I have a habit of prolonged eye contact with strangers and perhaps a lack of fear amongst other men. I dont think this any type of mania.

Does anyone have similar?

Have you looked in detail into narcissism and ASPD? They often blur lines but are considered two different disorders...I think you should try to find as much information as you can and try to look at things objectively in your life and your feelings. Sorry for such a vague answer but I feel there are so many different types of sociopaths.

Traits do not a disorder make! But I do see that you clearly have dysfunctional behaviours that do not correlate with your diagnosis. Whoever diagnosed you is a moron -- because psychotic symptoms during the course of amphetamine abuse are to be expected! But with that fact alone in mind... Either you could have ASPD & that disorder fueled your pull towards drugs & violence. Or the drug abuse caused brain impairment that lead to violence & the other traits you describe. It's hard to say!! But it's good that you're out & I hope you find the information you seek.
