Granted I have never known someone with aspd without npd, so I dont know if that makes a difference.

That said, are people with aspd able to maintain healthy friendships? From the people I've known they basically took what they want and tossed me like a bad habit. I fully understand idealize, devalue, discard.

I was on a board full of narcs and paths. Someone asked about what members latest supply was. I said I dont have a supply, I am the supply. Lol. So I do have an open mind and sense of humor.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to have a friendship or if I'm wasting my energy even trying. Thoughts?

I have a friend who is most definetely a narc and quite possibly Psycho. The reason I can keep them as a friend is because we have so much in common otherwise. I don't try to change them I hold my nose and look the other way sometimes. I don't get involved in his "crazy making." I don't allow him to manipulate me. He knows that I highly respect many of his skills and talents and being around me he can feel grandiose. He is incredibly fun to be around IF HE LIKES YOU. I am very careful as he could possibly "turn" on me.
