Can a person with anxiety suffer from the following symptoms for several weeks to a month (off and on or non-stop)?...

* Constricted feeling in throat (sometimes a "lump") but I'm feeling it below my collarbone - normal?

* Feeling like I can't always catch my breath

* Stiffness on left side of neck

* Prickly or needle-like jabs in my back/spine or neck a few times each day

* Feeling anxious and obscessing that I have a disease, worrying, looking up symptoms, fretting, etc. Fretting over every little sensation (flutter, tingling, ache, etc) constantly.

* I've had low-grade fevers (99-100) off and on (but mostly off) for about 10 years now and the doctors never seem to care ("oh, some people just run hotter" or "it's probably just your allergies").

I was just wondering - thank you

greygoose, i once went a period of three months with hyperventilation. it was pure hell. i'm sure i had other sypmtoms that i didn't recognize as i was young and unaware. it was an awful time for me.

yes, i believe you can experience that high of a level of anxiety for that long and longer.

i wish you well. does keeping your hands busy help? what, if anything seems to help?

take care and good luck,

kd

Hi Grey,

Yes, I was caught up in an anxiety state for almost two years, with very little relief, and there was a lot of hypochondria for me around that time.

It's hard to know what breaks the anxiety cycle, sometimes it just lifts, or sometimes medication or even a change of circumstances can break it.

It sounds like you are suffering a lot at the moment. Sometimes it's just a waiting game, so keep talking and we'll keep listening.

Peaceful thoughts to you,

Myzen.

((((((((((GG)))))))))))

I am so sorry your going through this. I have been through long periods of anxiety. Difficulty breathing, numbness, tingling and that overwhelming fear that either I'm going to die or that I'm going nuts. I hated it. i still hate it. Its pure hell so I understand what your going through.
I offer you hugs.
