I know teeth grinding is a sign of anxiety, but has anyone ever chewed their tongue unconsciously, or awoken at night because they bit their tongue so hard??
I think this is happening to me. I wake up periodically from really biting my tongue hard. And today I have remittant tongue pain. Could I be chewing my tongue instead of grinding my teeth? Before I begin a major symptom search on the internet which will scare me half to death, anyone have any thoughts on this? |

I wake up in pain from having bitten mine sometimes. I am also a teeth grinder......it would make sense to me that they could go hand in hand. I wore a brace as a teen to prevent the wearing down of my teeth from the grinding.
Maybe it is a Virginia "thang" ![]() |

Yes I do this as well as bite the inside of my mouth. I grind my teeth constantly. HEY!!! Maybe this is a VA thang.
