...I wish I could stop biting my nails! I'm going to get an infection one of these days, I just know it...I don't think I've gone 30 minutes in my entire life without chewing on them. Everyday, I wear them down to the quick and make them bleed. I'm so ashamed of my ragged hands. Sometimes, I put on false nails to make my hands more presentable, but I always end up gnawing those off too by the next day. Arg!

I wish I knew how to stop biting my nails....I want to have pretty hands.....Speaking of nail biting...

I used to bite mine - and when I was about 10 or 11 years old, my Dad took me to a old time druggist he knew well, and I was made to WATCH as he mixed up a concoction of meds, some that said POISON on them, and was told Dad would paint my nails with this stuff each morning. Well - little did I know that they switched bottles on me(what Dad painted on the next morning contained NO poison , but of course I never tasted it to find out) - but it sure as heck cured me!!!! LOL Now I have to use toe nail clippers on my fingernails they are so hard and long ! Seriously, have u tried any of that nasty tasting stuff you can buy in the drug store for nai bitters? At least that would make you aware you are doing it (even if u can tolerate the taste"), and perhaps you would then think "hey - I just bit my nails and I dont want to do that anymore", and it would help. Good luck ! I know many people have trouble stopping this habit.

Whoa! That would have cured me! Speaking of nail biting...

Truthfully, I've never tried that "No-Bite" stuff. I don't recall ever running into it in any of the stores I've visited (although I live in a town with a population smaller than a supermarket, so there's only so much variety). But that sounds like a good idea that I'll try. I hope I can kick the habit. Thanks! Speaking of nail biting...

I don't bite my nails but I pick them - they look as bad as if I bit them, and they're extremely short, and I do it every day too Speaking of nail biting....

When I had acrylic nails, I never bit them, and I consider myself somewhat of a nail biter.

I don't know what it was, but it really worked. Have you ever considered this? Not doing it yourself, but going to a salon and having a professional give you nice nails?
