Regardless if it is, you should have a full medical physical to rule out any health issues...

If you are being treated by a pdoc, bring this up to them. They have tools to diagnose that those of us who have dealt with it for a long time don't have. We can guess, they can diagnose.

That being said, know you have those of us here who understand! I have had this over half my life. While it has gotten better, especially with being treated for my ADHD, there are times I feel like I am walking a "razor's edge". Like I am very anxious and jumpy, but NOT QUITE "tipping" into an attack.

I hope this helps!

thanks for replying.

dont think its a physcial thing cos i'm a nurse and regualary check things like my bp etc and had bloods taken not that long ago and they were fine.

i dont see a pdoc regulary last time was back in may and not seeing them until nov. they tend to rely on the community mental health workers to highlight any issues to them and the one i had was a waste of space.
i know i should see my gp but i dont want to bother them again as its not been that long since ive seen them.

Hi there,

How are you doing? I was just reading your post there and saw that you mentioned you were a nurse. I suffer with GAD but i can go for months feeling fine and then out of the blue i can get bolts of fear, terror and anxiety. I fear so much about alophecia as i don't want to loose my hair from all my worry. Its a vicious cycle i worry about worrying. dont like to symptom search and i do suffer from what they call " White Coat syndrome" Everytime i see a bp machine i feel my anxiedy go up.

As a nurse do you know if anxiety raised Bp is harming on the heart? I got my BP checked 4 weeks ago and it was 120/75 then last week i went down to get a perscription and wasn't doing well anxiety wise i had been standing out in the cold for over half hour and to top it off my Doc was off and a strange locum doc was standing in for him. Anyway she took my BP and it was 140/105!!! She kinda panicked a little and i told her i suffered with Anxiety and my doc knows my past history i also told her that i have recently lost 3 stone in just over a year so i do hope and pray my BP was down to just anxiey alone what do you think about Alophecia with Anxiety is it common??

em...... im honestly not sure about the alophecia and anxiety. im not a mental health trained nurse so couldnt comment on that. i know that is normal for your bp and heart rate to increase during times a stress. but if your concerned about anything best person to talk to would be your regular doc who knows you.

sorry i've not been more help if my bp was 140/105 i wouldnt be totally worried but i'd get it rechecked again in a couple of weeks just to double check it.
