I have dealt with depression for about five years. Recently, I went though a low period where I was very very suicidal and needed to be watched. Now I am gradually coming out of this but I've noticed that even though I never used to have much anxiety, my levels are through the roof.
I tried to go back to school and I had a panic attack in the hallway. I feel nauseated around groups (3 or more people) and I shake constantly. I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin and I know this is worse than regular teenage anxiety. (This is my first post) |

Hi and welcome!
Can you pinpoint what it IS that you're anxious about? Is it the way you look? Is it some boy that you like? Is it a group of kids that you like or don't like? Is it a class that you're dreading? Usually with ME, I get anxious when I'm writing a check - isn't that silly? But I start shaking to the point that you can hardly read the writing ! I guess it's because I'm worried about parting with that MUCH money ! It seems to be only when I'm writing a check for a larger amount of money. That tends to really get me shaking. I KNOW the money is in the bank to cover it - I guess I just don't want to part with it. LOL It CAN be embarrassing tho. I found a way to slow the heartbeat. If you put your finger on your carotid artery (the big one in your neck) where you can feel your pulse, then PUSH on it for a little bit until you can tell that your pulse has slowed down - it will stop the attack. It works!!! It always worked for me. Now I don't have them anymore. Once I learned that I could stop them, I quit having them. ![]() I feel for you. High school is bad enough without this too. God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee |

You are not alone!
I know it's tough. Do you have anyone to talk to about this?

kitt, I had exactly the same problem in high school. Unfortunately, I did not seek help until 2 months before graduation. It sounds like you have social phobia/social anxiety disorder because you said you feel nauseated in groups...but I am not a mental health professional. Unfortunately, HS is one big get-together all day long. I have this same thing. Please get professional help.
