I had such a severe panic attack my face started spasming and I couldn't control the movements. My cheeks were twitching and my eye kept fluttering. I've noticed this has been happening a lot lately. Either when I'm really nervous or having an actual panic attack. Today I was having a level 8 attack and I had to leave the room.

Has anyone else had these spasms? I'm really worried, because I don't wont this to become permanent. Going to a doctor is not an option because it's just going to exacerbate things....

it's stress, ask any doctor when you tell them eye twiching,,first thing that comes to mind is stress i get it too and at first i'm worried "whats going on" it's like someones got a fishhook in there and keeps pulling on the string...it is actually more common than we think just no one talks about it. not permanent will go away soemtimes mine last just for the day some time for weeks...it gets very tireing i know and a lot of times i'll sit there with my hand over one side of my face pressing down. i don't care if i look stupid.

I was so worried about those facial movements! I get them too! They come and go depending on how stressed i am. My shrink said not to worry abt them.

I get them all the time now, and I wonder if it's because I haven't been taking any meds. Anytime I'm even remotely stressed they just start and I cannot control anything about them. I try to cover my mouth and pretend I'm yawning or simply rubbbing my chin to cover the fact that my mouth is literally spasming out of control. It's extremely embarrassing to be talking to someone and have to cover my face because I can't control the movements.

It's been a recent development this year. So I'm worried that it could be signs of something more dire.

At least I know I'm not the only one that's had this...
