Hi eveshifter. There are allot of different ways. But things work different for other people. I work on my breathing and relaxation techniques. I also take meds. The is a thread that ONMYWAY started called How do you manage your anxiety. Which could have some tips in there. Are you seeing a therapist at all?

Hi eveshifter I'm really sorry you're struggling with Panic Disorder. It can be hellish. Medication and therapy is the combination that works best for many people in terms of treatment. Along with some lifestyle changes - especially, getting more exercise - and learning some relaxation skills and coping techniques.

I really hope you're able to look into getting some professional help with this. Let us know how you're doing

Not too many, I am going through it now too.

All I do is try to control my breathing with deep breaths and I tell myself that it will pass, since it always does. I get myself so panicked with it then I think I am having a heart attack then I think I have died and the list goes on and on. It's a horrible feeling and there's not much to control it but you have to calm yourself down and just tell yourself it will pass like it always does.

Thanks. I have been living with my panic disorder symptoms (panic attacks) since I was about 3 or 4. I used to be really good at calming myself down but lately it's been really hard. I appreciate all the support. I am on meds. I take adderall, invega, lexapro, and trileptal. I used to be in therapy but I left a few weeks ago. Since then my PTSD symptoms have come back worse than before and my panic disorder symptoms have surfaced again as well. Anyway my family is hugely supportive of me and my father is helping me out by talking to a friend of his who is a therapist. Again, thank you for all the advice and support!

I'm so glad to hear that your family is so supportive ((((((eveshifter)))) That's really wonderful. I hope your Dad can set you up with a new therapist soon. I'm sure that will help. I know it really sucks when medication doesn't do enough. Maybe your pdoc can make some adjustments? I really hope you find some relief soon
