Hi, everyone...1st timer (thanks!). As a longtime anxious, "pure obsessive" person, I have been given an explanation recently that as my anxiety ramps up, so does one of its by-products paranoia, which resulted for me in more intense paranoia than before.

Also, the same goes for my first-time psychotic symptoms, mainly hallucinations. I pose the questions 1st: have you noticed this correlation and 2) do you think anxiety seems like a valid explanation for your own paranoia or psychotic symptoms intensifying, rather than something else? I realize there are many causes for all of the above but thanks for your ideas!

Paranoia and psychosis can be triggered by intense and/or out of control anxiety.

Are you working with a psychodynamic psychotherapist to help understand your anxiety, what prompts it, what your fears are that are triggering a response in you to fight or flee?

Yes, I have been fortunate to have a therapist to see roughly bi-weekly for the last 9 years (3 different). My psychiatrist gave me good info. on how this would effect my Bipolar II and vice versa as well and the therapist and the pdoc were aligned. Guess I'M not the only one getting it! : ) And you know, when I'm in one of these states, I don't!

In answer to your 2nd question, my life has been spinning out of control in just about every facet. Maybe this indicates it's all coming to a head. That's the scary, irrational part - that I might get stuck here. I've run the gamut in meds and unfortunately they cannot be applied here as I would like.

Thank you for being my "first responder" today.
Thanks for this!

I don't know if this is what you're asking, but my anxiety is sometimes like a psychosis. It warps my perception of everything, and a lot of my anxieties looking back were totally out of proportion and unrealistic. To me it's like a low level psychosis at times.
